APIE MENO ANAPUSIŠKUMĄ IR GEDIMINĄ BERŽINĮ
Filosofas W. Benjaminas, kreipdamasis į žydų mistikų patirtį rašė „Kiekviena ateities sekundė jiems buvo varteliai, pro kuriuos galėjo įžengti Mesijas“. Yra kelios susijusios Dievo ir Mesijo priėmimo formos: laukti ir atpažinti, kai Jis ateis; jausti, kad tu esi pakviestas liudyti ar būti Mesiju; kurti anapusinę ateitį, lyg jau būtum vienas iš daugybės galimų mesijų. Religijos dažniausiai kviečia tik laukti ir priimti tai, ką Bažnyčia parodys. Iš čia Didžiojo Inkvizitoriaus ir Kristaus antrojo atėjimo problema: ar teisėjai atpažins Mesiją, ar ir vėl baus? Kitas būdas, tikėti pačiam ir priimti Kvietimą, nors labai išauga melagingo liudijimo tikimybė. O jei pats jautiesi pakviestas atpažinti ar net būti ateities Mesiju, tada rizikuoji būti prakeiktas, sutryptas, persekiojimas, jei tik nepasirenki saugesnės – menininko pozicijos. Menininkams atleidžiami jų įkvėpimai ir net klystkeliai, nes jų kūrinius, o ne juos pačius, bandoma aiškinti ne tiesiogiai (tautegoriškai), o perkeltiniu žvilgsniu – alegoriškai. Alegorizacija ir apsaugo menininką, ir nuvertina jo įžvalgas ir jautrumus. Teigiama, kad tai ką jie nutapė tėra šiapusybės mirgėjimas, o ne anapusybės ženklas. Pagaliau ties rašytojai, menininkai, filosofai, kurie drįsta patys atverti tūkstančius ateities vartelių ar net juos sukurti – dažniausiai lieka nesuprasti ir nepriimti, nes pasaulis iš jų laukia ne Dievo, o pelno, o vietoje išganymo ir naujų pasaulių tikisi daugiau aukso ir malonumų. Todėl dauguma ne regi transcendencijos simbolius, nei drįsta juos atverti. G. Beržinis, paskatintas S. Kruopio, įsitraukė į šį nedėkingą ir ties atpažinimo ar net ekskomunikacijos riba esantį Dievo liudijimo kelią. Dar daugiau, pasirinko ne teorinę ar tapybinę meditaciją, bet asketinę praktiką susijusią su kūno atvėrimu ateičiai, kurią jis vadina, ir gal ne be reikalo, Dievo šviesa. Ir čia jo kūriniai susiduria su visomis minėtomis problemomis: klystkelio pavojumi, nors, kas neklaidžioja, tad ir neranda; ir su paniekos bei atmetimo grėsme, nes tūkstančiai Mesijo sekundžių-vartų nežada nei taisyklių paisymo, nei turtų, nei pripažinimo. Šia prasme Beržinis tampa menininku kryžiuočiu, kuris pats vienas laukia Dievo art Mesijo, bet priima draugus, kurie nori būti kartu su juo. Čia jo tapyba pamažu praranda alegoriškumą ir tampa praktiniu liudijimu.

Gediminas Beržinis-Beržinskas (g. 1958 m. Troškūnuose, Anykščių rajonas) – Lietuvos fotografas, žurnalistas, filmų kūrėjas. Nuo 1999 m. Gediminas Beržinis dalyvauja įvairiose teminėse, grupinėse foto ir vaizduojamojo meno parodose Lietuvoje ir užsienyje. Surengė kelis įsimintinus performansus Šiaulių mieste. Aktyviai dalyvauja plenerinėje veikloje Lietuvoje ir užsienyje (Indijoje, Rusijoje, Baltarusijoje, Vokietijoje, Lenkijoje). Respublikinio projekto „Drąsinkime ateitį“ dalyvis. Lietuvos kino mėgėjų sąjungos narys. Nuo 2015 m. Šiaulių miesto savivaldybės tarybos narys.

ABOUT ART’S OTHERWISE AND GEDIMINAS BERŽINIS
Philosopher W. Benjamin, referring to the experience of Jewish mystics, wrote “Every second of the future was for them a gate through which the Messiah could enter.” There are several related forms of accepting God and the Messiah: waiting and recognizing when He comes; to feel that you are called to witness or be the Messiah; creating an otherworldly future as if you were already one of many possible messiahs. Religions usually only invite us to wait and accept what the Church will show. Hence the problem of the Grand Inquisitor and the second coming of Christ: will the judges recognize the Messiah or punish again? Another way is to believe in yourself and accept the Invitation, although the possibility of false witness increases greatly. And if you yourself feel called to recognize or even be the Messiah of the future, then you risk being cursed, trampled, persecuted, if you do not choose a safer position – the position of an artist. Artists are forgiven for their inspirations and even mistakes, because their works, and not themselves, are not tried to be interpreted directly (tautegorically), but with a figurative look – allegorically. Allegorization both protects the artist and devalues his insights and sensibilities. It is said that what they painted is just a glimmer of the hereafter, not a sign of the hereafter. Finally, writers, artists, philosophers who dare to open thousands of gates of the future themselves or even create them – usually remain misunderstood and not accepted, because the world expects profit from them, not God, and instead of salvation and new worlds, it expects more gold and pleasures. Therefore, most do not see the symbols of transcendence, nor dare to open them. G. Beržinis, encouraged by S. Kruopi, got involved in this ungrateful way of witnessing God, which is on the verge of recognition or even excommunication. What’s more, he chose not theoretical or pictorial meditation, but an ascetic practice related to opening the body to the future, which he calls, and perhaps not without reason, the light of God. And here his works face all the aforementioned problems: the danger of going astray, although those who do not wander do not find; and with the threat of scorn and rejection, because thousands of Messiah-second-gates promise no rules, no riches, no recognition. In this sense, Beržinis becomes a crusader artist who alone waits for God through the Messiah, but accepts friends who want to be with him. Here his painting gradually loses its allegorical nature and becomes a practical testimony.

Since 1999 Gediminas Beržinis participates in various thematic, group photo and fine art exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad. Organized several memorable performances in Šiauliai. Actively participates in outdoor activities in Lithuania and abroad (India, Russia, Belarus, Germany, Poland). Participant of the republican project “Let’s encourage the future”.
