The exhibition will run until May 9. ABOUT THE EXHIBITION At the center of the exhibition is the object as both a material and conceptual form, consistently accompanying the graphic works. It functions not only as a depicted element but also as a carrier of philosophical meaning. Through objects, the past is articulated, while their surfaces reveal fragmented memories embedded in time. The present is understood through what has been created before. The point of departure is a century-old homestead of the artist’s great-grandparents – a space where several generations once lived. It acts as a link between past and present, bringing together different times and experiences. The works develop through an exploration of traces of family history and fragments of the past that remain encoded in objects. Everyday domestic items acquire an autonomous role here – they become silent carriers of information. The memories preserved within them allow us to sense what has not been directly experienced or named. Equally important is the attempt to imagine a time before one’s own existence, as well as modes of thinking that today can only be accessed through surviving objects. The visual environment of the works is marked by a restrained, darker tonality, emphasizing the stillness of objects and their distance from the present. Yet this distance also creates space for interpretation, raising the question of whether objects can be “made to speak” and reveal what they hold within. The works depict simple, often overlooked domestic objects. Their silence becomes a creative impulse – an attempt to highlight what goes unnoticed and to grant new meaning to static forms. Ultimately, in these graphic works, objects become silent witnesses, preserving what has been lived but not always articulated. Through them, a fragile connection between past and present emerges – between what has receded and what continues to live on in memory. — Renata MurauskaitėABOUT THE ARTIST
